Adding to My Resume

Good Morning! If you’ve been following along, I shared back in February that I have been working on things behind the scenes. Well, the news is finally here—my artwork has made it into a real art gallery, and I am so incredibly excited!

Here is how it all happened. Last fall, my friend Jessie and I went on a road trip along the coast, stopping at different galleries along the way. Before we left, I loaded up my prints and a few original pieces—I wanted to see the galleries in person and check if I would fit into the atmosphere. At each gallery, I walked around, asked questions, and checked vibes. Yes, vibes matter—I’m just like that! I met some wonderful people and asked them every question I could think of about the process of getting artwork into a gallery. Through those conversations, I was connected with a small group of galleries, filled out applications, went through interviews, and earned a spot in one!! WHOOO HOOOO

So without further ado—my artwork will be displayed at Saltwater Artist Gallery in New Haven, Maine, right on the way to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse! I am so excited to be partnering with them! Part of the process involved writing an artist statement—and yes, I did have to look up what it was before writing one! You can read mine on their website. The best part is that this is not just a short showing. My work will be displayed from May through October! But wait, there’s more—I will be making a personal appearance at the gallery once a month, working the front desk, and getting to interact with visitors throughout the summer. I will keep you posted on the exact dates so you can stop by, meet the artist—that’s me!—see my work, and snap a photo together!
